Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone! I hope you are having a little bit of fun with family or friends today. This week’s blog post will probably be on the shorter side, so it shouldn’t take too much time out of your holiday weekend plans.

I did not plan to make this week’s post shorter, but this past week I was pretty busy and didn’t make time to go running at all. So, I won’t be doing a lot of running talk this week.

However, I will still tell you a little bit about what I did in this past week.

If you read last week’s post, you may remember that I mentioned something about how I could probably be a farmer. That was because I spent last week house sitting for a family that has chickens and goats. So, I had to take care of the chickens and goats, and I made that farmer statement after only taking care of them for one night.

I did like taking care of the animals, but I’m not sure I would actually be a good farmer. I probably wouldn’t be actually. I did have to chase a few chickens around and pick a few up to put them back in their pen, but that is probably where my farming experience would end. I wouldn’t be able to do much more than that.

This family does have a baby goat, though. I loved the baby goat. She didn’t really like me too much, but she was still a lot of fun to watch. She really loves hopping off of things and chasing the chickens around, which was pretty funny.

I also worked a lot this week. This is actually my first day off since my last post. Work was pretty hectic this week. On Tuesday, we had strong storms and tornado warnings roll in. I work outside, so that made things pretty stressful. On Wednesday, work was super busy and I got in over 25,000 steps. On Thursday, my legs were still dead from the day before. Friday and Saturday were really busy too, but yesterday wasn’t too bad.

And that’s why I didn’t get a chance to go running this week. I was just so tired from walking around at work all day, and from taking care of someone else’s house that I just needed a break from running for the week.

Today, I’m planning on just relaxing and having some fun. Then tomorrow, I’ll do a few errand type of activities and plan out my running schedule for the week. After that I work for the next eight days straight, so that is why I really need to plan out when I’ll be running.

I really want to establish a strong running base before officially starting my half marathon training in a few weeks. I also would really love to talk more about running in this running blog.

This week I chose to step forward into growth. I hope that you do the same. I’ll be back next week to tell you more about my running experiences and other adventures I may encounter. I hope you have a great week!
