I know last week I said I might not have a blog post this week because I’m on ~vacation~, but here we are.
I’m going to keep this really short this week, but I really wanted you all to know that I ran four miles on Saturday. I did take a two walking breaks towards the end, though. I was still happy with my average pace of 10’56”. Typically when I run on the treadmill, I run at about an 11 minute per mile pace, so seeing that my average pace was under 11 minute made me very happy. Especially considering that I did walk a little bit.
Other than that, my other workouts for the week went well, but weren’t anything extraordinary.
Okay, well I really need to get going, so I will talk to you all next week. The long run for this week is four miles… again. My goal for this week is to run the entire four miles without taking any walking breaks, so wish me luck!
Motivation Monday
“Ankle rolls are life.” –Drew
That’s an actual quote from my boyfriend who has been very supportive with me as I train for this race. Drew ran cross country in high school, so he’s been helping me with my warm-up exercises (one of which is ankle rolls) and he’s also gone on a few of the runs with me.
So, here’s the backstory with the quote. I was kind of being stubborn earlier this week and didn’t want to do all of the warm-ups that Drew suggested (one of which were the ankle rolls) because I typically didn’t do all of the warm-ups before I run. That’s when Drew imparted to me the wisdom of “ankle rolls are life,” and I jokingly said I would use that as the Motivation Monday quote for the blog.
Only I wasn’t joking. Thanks Drew! 🙂
Week 20: Miles run this week: 11.0 Miles run total: 93.82 Overall mood: ~on vacation~
